The Salvation Army Flagstaff each year we assist  individuals and families with dozens of services. Christmas is just one of them, but it is certainly an important one! For most of our children this will be the only Christmas they will have.

Holiday Meals

Food boxes are provided to eligible individuals and families for the Holidays. Boxes are filled with items needed to prepare a holiday meal.

Thanksgiving Food Boxes

  • Assist with sorting, set up and packing 200 Food Boxes at The Salvation Army.
  • Help hand out 100+ Food Boxes to those less fortunate.

Christmas Food Boxes

  • Assist with sorting and setup of food items at The Salvation Army.
  • Help assemble and pack food Boxes.

 

Christmas Kettles

The Christmas Kettle program provides a critical financial cornerstone of support for The Salvation Army. Funds raised help assist with Christmas Programs as well as other year-round services. Please call (928) 774-1403 to learn how you, your small group, your big group, how all can come together and ring the classic silver bells at our iconic Red Kettles!

Adopt-A-Kettle/Bell Ringer(s)

  • Individuals, family members, friends, etc. may choose to “Ring the Bell” at a Kettle Location for a 4 hour minimum pd., an entire day, or even the whole Kettle season.

Corporate Kettle Challenge

  • The Salvation Army would like to Challenge our corporate friends to release their employees on company time to “Ring the Bell” at a Kettle location.
  • Business, community organizations, Universities, Greek organizations, Civic clubs, scout troops, schools, churches and other groups are encouraged to volunteer.

 

Angel Tree Program

Angel Tree Mall Volunteers

  • Help shoppers choose just the right “Angel” to adopt.
  • Help receive gifts as they are returned at the table.
  • Individuals or groups are encouraged to volunteer for 1 or more hours, half a day, an entire day or more.
  • Only two individuals at a time due to limited space at the Angel Tree.

Adopt-An-Angel

  • Choose an Angel (child) from the Angel Tree at the mall.
  • Purchase new gifts from their “wish list”
  • Return unwrapped gifts to Angel Tree at mall or to The Salvation Army office.

Adopt-A-Family

  • Call The Salvation Army office and ask to speak to someone in Social Services about adopting a family for Christmas.
  • Choose a family, any size you decide upon and provide gifts for the entire family, along with a special Christmas Food Box
  • Return unwrapped gifts and Christmas food box to The Salvation Army.

Corporate Angel Tree
Would your place of work like to adopt more than 10 angels or host your own Angel Tree? For more information call The Salvation Army at 928-774-1403.

Christmas Warehouse
All gifts must be checked in, missing bags packed and everything ready to hand out by Distribution Day. A lot of hands are required to complete this task.

  • Help set up Christmas Warehouse
  • Check in Angel Tree gifts
  • Fill bags for children who do not get adopted or whose gifts are not turned in on time.

Christmas Distribution Day

  • Volunteers assist families with picking up their gifts and taking them to their vehicles.
  • Volunteers assist with loading Christmas Food boxes for eligible individuals or families in their cars.

 

Other ways to Help

Toys (New toys only please)

  • Organize a Toy Drive at school, church, business or neighborhood
  • Collect or donate new toys for the Angel Tree program.

Food Drive (non-perishable items)

  • Organize a Food Drive at your school, church, business or neighborhood
  • Collect and donate canned goods

Bikes (New bikes only please)

  • All children like bikes. Collect or donate new bikes for the Angel Tree program

Coats/ Jackets

  • Collect and donate clean gently used coats and jackets to help keep children and adults warm in cold weather

Office Volunteer

  • Volunteers with clerical and admin. skills are needed in office.
  • Help set up Angel Trees, help with Angel Tags, data entry, etc.
  • Sort food items and work in food pantry
